One Year Later

One year ago I acquired Crown Point Graphics from the Bursaw's. It would be an understatement to say that it has been an interesting year. Learning a new business, a global pandemic, an economic shutdown, presidential election year, it seems that 2020 had a lot of lessons to teach a new business owner. I think the graphic says it all.

With all that has gone on this year it is easy to forget about all the good things that have happened. I want to share with you the good, no, great things that have happened to me this year.

First the people.

I have met amazing people who entered into my life this year. Fantastic, talented artists like Robbin Rawlings, Bob and Greg Giordano, Mike and Tina Wenke, Alan Giana, Annie LaPoint, and more. I enjoy following you on Instagram and seeing the beautiful work you do and the humor and joy you bring to life.

Great vendor partners like Qing, Clement, Rahul, Bharat, Sue, David, Phil, Scott and more whom without their support the business wouldn't be successful.

Our retail customers, it has been a tough year for all of us, thank you for being understanding and supportive of both Crown Point Graphics, and the issues we have all faced during the shutdown, logistic challenges, closures, new business paradigms, and all that we have faced together this year. Here is to a fantastic 2021 and putting 2020 behind us.

Our Fans, we wouldn't be here without you. I love reading your comments, getting your emails and the fact that you honor us by buying our products. Thank you so much for support our small business.

The staff.

I can't say enough here. When I acquired Crown Point Graphics, I had a sense of how special the staff was but I didn't really know. What you have taught me over the last year has been invaluable.

Carol Your understanding of the business, your care for the people and customers, your amazing eye for art, your attention to bringing the best possible product to market, and your leadership is what has built Crown Point Graphics into the company I wanted to be a part of.

Michelle You keep the place humming, juggling new duties, daily changes based on the latest logistics or business challenges, your easy laugh and ability to work past the challenges this year has thrown at us is breathtaking. You always seem to come up with a solution that resolves the issue.

Vicki you hunt for the best art, spending countless hours trying to winnow down all the options to the best ones for a particular project. You are always cheerful and seem to love and be loved by all of our artists and licensors. I always look forward to your cheerful morning greeting.

Yvonne, juggling being creative, managing family, and the constant changes this year I am sure has been challenging. You always seem to know just changes need to be made to a design to bring out the best features and beautiful product. The fact that you like a bad pirate jokes is a plus.

Kristin, I admire and enjoy hearing about your work with rescue dogs. Making time to care for God's creatures who need our support is a sign of your big heart. Thank you for all the late nights trying to make deadlines this year. We don't see you enough down here and hopefully next year we will be able to meet in person more often at the office.

Dan, your steady hand guided this company for years, your attention to detail, sound financial advise and processes you put in place made this an easy transition as a new owner. Though you are semi-retired I look forward to your continued support.

Amy, I am so glad we brought you on board this year. Your insight, humor and outside perspective are already showing benefits. It normally takes awhile for new employees to fit in, but in just a short time it feels like you have been with us forever.

Steven, our gentle giant and newest member. I love the way you have jumped in to make us a better company with new processes and ideas.

It is you the staff that I am thankful for the most this season. We have weathered a tumultuous year that nobody could have expected. You have helped me understand the company, grow, put up with my crazy ideas and believe in this company. I am blessed to have you in my life and I don't say thank you often enough. So THANK YOU

As I enter my second year I am excited of where we are going and if it is only half as challenging as this past year it can only be a great year. Thank you all for the support, the commiseration, the laughter, and believing in Crown Point Graphics.
